LDS General Conferences

I love listening to general conferences, the talks given and songs sung bring such a feeling of the spirit and love. Thomas S. Monson and Jeffery R. Holland are two of my favorite speakers. I love the stories and love that Monson shares. Holland has such a boldness, I love the way he makes the points of the gospel completely black and white, nothing gray. He says what is right and what is wrong and exactly how we should live to become close to the Savior. There are talks for everyone and every different kind of trial that we may be going through. They give hope and knowledge to prepare you for what to do when trials come. You can easily listen and download conference talks at http://lds.org/conference/display/0,5234,23-1,00.html.

Quotes

"He held you gently, whispering loving words of assurance, 'I will not forget thee, nor forsake thee. I will not fail thee . . .' And then you were born."

- I got this off of a picture of a little girl with Christ's arms around her -

"When life’s too hard to look in front of you, and to scary to look behind. I look right beside me. He’s always there for me. Right there with me ready to face the world together!" ~ Haylee’s Quote Revised

- My cousin wrote this but I converted it into a quote about the Savior. -

Amazing Cookies

I found this amazing cookie recipe from betty crocker. The first time I tried it my husband and I fell in love with it. They are called 'Browned Butter Cookies with Caramel Frosting'
Here's the recipe, I defiantly suggest that you try it!

1/4 teaspoon salt

Caramel Frosting:

1/2 cup butter or margarine

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 cup milk

2 cups powdered sugar

1.Heat oven to 350 degrees. In small sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until butter is light brown. Cool for about 10 minutes.

2. In large bowl, mix browned butter, brown sugar, milk and eggs with spoon. Stir in flour baking soda and salt with electric mixer (if you have one, if not thats fine). Use tablespoon to drop cookies 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.

3. Bake cookies 7 - 8 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched in center. Cool for about 30 minutes.

4. While cookies are cooling, in Medium to Large sauce pan melt 1/2 cup butter over medium heat. When melted stir in brown sugar. Heat to boiling, stir constantly.
